![]() I have to use make my machine dual boot and partition my existing hard drive, right? So as I'm understanding it, I can't use just a boot CD or thumb. I will definitely want to be able to access and edit my files (really only one-my truecrypt volume), and I will not have an external drive to store my data. The problem is, however, that if the key logger captures how I get into the VM, then the wife could just follow me in, no? And would I have access to my data files in a VM?įYI-up to this point, I have a truecrypt volume that contains my more private data files and also has installed on it firefox portable, which I think (and hope) keeps all my browing activity locked up in the truecrypt volume. I would think that this VM would NOT subject to the key logger soft for my private activity. My initial thought was to use ubuntu which she would be totally unfamiliar with (I'm a novice it as well).Ģ) Get some kind of virtual machine software to run another OS on the side. I think if I move all of my data files to a partion separate from the operation systems, I should be able access them using either OS, right? Although if my wife wants me to show her how to access the other OS, I might be back to the same problem (she could put the key logger on the second OS. I'm not doing Tiger Woods stuff, but she might not like all that I'm doing if she could see it (nothing illegal).ġ) make the machine a dual boot operating system but don't tell the wife how to access the other system. With all the Tiger Wood cheating hysterial, let's just say that hypothetically speaking, my wife (who has very little computer knolwedge) installs an off-the-shelf key logger like spector pro (or any programlike it that can run hidden and take screen captures and log keystrokes, emials, instant messages, etc.) to see what I'm doing online. I have a decent level of computer knowledge, but I'm no expert.
